Mariana is an experienced researcher specialising in financial investigations across Latin America. Originally from Mexico, Mariana draws on her regional experience as well as her background in corporate investigations and research for civil society.
Mariana started her career with Control Risks in Mexico, where she worked on a range of internal fraud and asset tracing matters across the region. She joined Raedas following three years working with the social enterprise Empower, LLC based in Mexico City. There she led financial investigations and other strategic research and analysis for civil society and front-line human rights defenders. At Empower Mariana specialised in corporate crimes, supply chain accountability and human rights investigations.
In 2016 she was awarded a Chevening Scholarship by the UK government to study at the London School of Economics. In addition to London and Mexico, she has lived and worked in the United States.
